Shelter – Inspiring Change Manchester is looking for a Research Partner

We are looking for a Research Partner

Are you an individual or organisation who is passionate about the voices of people who face disadvantage, have a record of either supporting organisations to involve people in a process of transformation or developing research which promotes people’s voices – Then this could be for you!

We are looking for a research partner to help us explore how the involvement and participation of people with lived experience of multiple and complex needs can create lasting change

Since we first began back in June 2014, involving people with lived experience of multiple needs has remained a key ideal and value that we have continued to strive towards. Now we are asking ourselves some tough questions about how this has helped us to create real change. These include

Does the involvement and participation of people with lived experience influence how staff and volunteers within our project understand complex needs?

Has it led to changes in people’s beliefs, values and actions they take, which shape their working cultures and practices?

Are changes taking place at all levels of services ie. ‘support workers’ to ‘management’?

Has it helped to highlight the problems that people face so that we can develop solutions that tackle inequality?

Through this we are hoping to build a vision of the potential for developing greater forms of involvement and participation for people facing complex needs in the future.
